From the editor

Hello there!

This season is so much about time with family and friends, annual vacation, shopping indulgences, and the discovery of new people and places… A large part of it is also the things of lazy afternoons spent indoors and leisurely nights spent stargazing. Not to forget-the splash in the pool, fun-filled workouts, fruit punches, sorbets and ice golas! Hope every one of you is having the perfect summer of your lives. I am making this a very special summer of my own too.

In our pages, read about actress Dia Mirza. She gets candid about growing up to be everything she wanted to be. Know the bollywood beauty with a love for reading, writing, painting, cooking and pottery.

Our theme story this month is ‘Tobacco Cessation’. We have kept the focus not on the oft spoken ills, but on the help that is available for those who wish to do better for themselves. Without question, this is one odd case where winning is all about quitting.

Continuing with our focus on mental health from the previous issue, our May issue has articles on the effects of stress on memory and why sleeping pills cannot be the remedy for poor sleep. Seafood delicacies and its role in weight loss programmes is another general theme. The others run as mood altering foods, a harvest of health in your kitchen garden, light effects on the eye, the right strokes of a toothbrush and global destinations for footwear.

To sign off, there is IPL! Following up on what makes physical fitness for a professional cricketer, we have sports nutritionist's take on diet for a professional cricketer. Let your favourite team win!

Read on and don't miss the headline - "Your fitness creates your first impression".

Lots of love
